Q: Are the Reapers open for both current AA and AAA players?
Q: Will the Reapers have all 8 teams?
A: Yes, we will have U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U18.
Q: Will the Reapers have girl teams?
A: The Reapers absolutely support girls hockey. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have girls teams due to USAH membership percentage rules. We hope to have them in the future.
Q: Do the Reapers favor AA clubs/players over others?
A: This could not be further from the truth. We favor no club. Players/families will be selected solely on their skill and strength of character.

The Reapers cannot be more thrilled to welcome Tommy Wingels to our family. Tommy will be our head of Player Development.
For those that may be unaware, Tommy Wingels is a true home grown talent. He grew up in Wilmette and played for a number of the local clubs, including the Falcons, CYA, Mission, and TI. His path led him to the USHL and then onto Miami University, where, after a great freshman year, he was drafted in the 6th round by the San Jose Sharks in the 2008 NHL draft. After his Junior year, in which he led the team as team captain, he signed with the San Jose Sharks.
Tommy had an outstanding professional career, highlighted by proudly representing the United States National Team at the 2013 World Championships and playing in the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals.

Our players and families could not be more fortunate to have Tommy honing their skills and developing their games. Please give Tommy a warm welcome when you see him at the rink!

Reapers Hockey Association finds new home at Mount Prospect Ice Arena
Saturday, October 10, 2020 | 10:00AM
The Mount Prospect Ice Arena (MPIA) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term agreement with the Reapers Hockey Association.
The Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) announced on September 23, 2020 that the Reapers Tier 1 organization will be joining the likes of the Chicago Fury, Chicago Mission, Chicago Young Americans, and Team Illinois in the 2021-2022 season.
The Reapers will call MPIA home for all of its on ice needs and have (8) team locker rooms, a players lounge, video/meeting room, coaches office and locker room, equipment/storage room, and weekly use of the MPI Sports Development Center and Nicholas Field.
Beginning early 2021, MPIA will break ground on an expansion to accommodate the dedicated spaces for the Reapers association, as well as feature a 3rd sheet of ice to meet the growing needs of other organizations.
The agreement with the Reapers aligns MPIA with a top tier organization that will bring an enhanced experience to the Illinois youth hockey community.
“Since opening in 2016, we’ve set a high standard [from a facility perspective] for those in the industry, and executing an agreement with an organization like the Reapers only reinforces our commitment to continue to partner with quality run hockey clubs,” said Ryan Zanon, Operations Manager at the Mount Prospect Ice Arena.
Steven Dry, President of the Reapers Hockey Association shares Zanon’s enthusiasm stating, “Nick Papanicholas and his team at MPIA share in our mission to provide the opportunity for more Illinois youth hockey players to achieve their highest level. Their amenities are first class, and their convenience to the North Shore area [less than 10 miles on average] further allows us to meet our vision. We could not be more thrilled with our new partnership!”
Our only goal is do everything in our power to make the players at The Reapers reach their highest potential as hockey players while also developing the life skills of work ethic, respect, discipline, commitment and friendship.
